About OPTUR

The National Association of Receptive Tourism Operators of Ecuador “OPTUR” obtained the official approval of its Statutes, before the Ministry of Tourism, on february the 2nd 2004 giving way to one of the aspirations of the receptive tourism operators sector of Ecuador; constituting itself, in the strongest option to strengthen the management of tourism operations at the local level and consequently contribute to the overall development of the national tourism sector.

This is the opportunity for all the Tourism Operators of Ecuador to consolidate our unity, as active members of OPTUR and to exercise, through this institution and all of the entities linked to the national tourist activity, such as the Provincial Associations, FENACAPTUR, Ministry of Tourism , Ministry of Environment, among others, all the necessary steps to ensure that Ecuador is positioned as the first tourist destination in Latin America; through the implementation of promotion plans, quality in tourism services, legal security, among other mechanisms, which will help us to locate ourselves at the same levels of competitiveness of our neighboring countries and closest competitors, which will duplicate the number of visitors that Ecuador receives everyday, and that through its union organization and the support of visionary governments, have assumed tourism as a true national policy and without a doubt, as the best investment in the future.

  • Our mission at OPTUR is to lead receptive tourism in Ecuador, promoting responsible activity with the environment, the community and the consumer, through the training of its members, within the highest standards of performance; and the promotion of professional and ethical regulations. To defend the rights of associates through active participation in political decisions that affect the area and in the promotion of the country at a national and international level. Promote the integration, communication and unity of its associates.
